The 18-month review and consortium meeting took place on 23 and 24 September at the IMEC-One Planet Research Centre, located on the campus of Wageningen University and Research Centre in Wageningen, the Netherlands. The event provided an opportunity to update all participants and reviewers on the project’s technological advances and ongoing activities.
During the first day of the meeting, all partners presented the latest project results, focusing on an innovative biosensor platform based on cells and microorganisms to detect contaminants in water, using multiple optical and electrochemical sensors and neuromorphic systems for data processing and event prediction. During this day, we also participated in an inspiring SSbD workshop, organised by the Dutch Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and Wageningen University (WUR), to discuss the sustainability issues of our biosensor system and their impact on the final design.
On 24 September, we had the 18-month review of the BIOSENSEI project. The project Officer, Sofia Pachini (REA), and experts Prof. Saverio de Vito (ENEA, Italy) and Prof. Pedro de Lemos Correia (CBio, University of Bath, United Kingdom) reviewed our project. We would like to thank the reviewers for the fruitful discussions on the project.
